About This Item

Sourced from the mediteranean climate of San Joaquin Valley, known for intense hot days and cool nights, this Pinot Gris was destemmed and lightly crushed upon arrival. The seven days spent macerating on the skins is what gives this wine its unique color and its name; "Ramato" which translates to, "Copper" in Italian. Once in barrel it underwent malolactic fermentation and batonnage (lees stirring) every two weeks to enhance texture. Post-fermentation the wine was aged for approx five months in neutral oak barrels and another two and a half months in tank. Only 206 cases produced, this wine is the essence of old world style expressed in a new and exciting way.
